The Importance of Linkedin (A memo)
Team,
1. If you do not have an linked in account, please create one.
2. If you have one, make sure it is updated with your current employment information.
3. Finally, network the hell out of yourself.
As you know, social media is vital to an organizations success, especially Linkedin. The network helps us find more storm troopers, gain access to prospects, provides market intelligence, and serves up answers that grow our knowledgebase. One of the most important things you can do for your career and for your company is grow your Linkedin base.
Let me tell you a secret; any executive, sales, or biz dev candidate applying for a job that has a small number of contacts is disregarded. We don’t care how impressive their resume is. The bigger network you have, the more valuable you are, and the more access you have to people who can provide you with advice and guidance. Look at people who attend Harvard or Stanford, their networks are amazing and they are usually set for life. Think of Linkedin as Stanford, but with a mechanical social graph instead of a human one.
